New update of Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs)
On 19 January 2021, the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) has released the new Candidate List of SVHCs. With the addition of two new substances, the current list of SVHCs contains 211 substances.
These two substances are used in products, such as inks or toners and to produce plastics and rubber tyres.
The below shows the two new substances included:
1) Substance name: Bis(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethyl)ether
EC number: 205-594-7
CAS number: 143-24-8
Reason for inclusion: Toxic for reproduction
(Article 57 (c))
2) Substance name: Dioctyltin dilaurate, stannane, dioctyl-, bis(coco acyloxy) derivs., and any other stannane, dioctyl-, bis(fatty acyloxy) derivs. wherein C12 is the predominant carbon number of the fatty acyloxy moiety
Reason for inclusion: Toxic for reproduction (Article 57 (c))
